Mark Johnson is Senior Vice President, Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications at Prothena Biosciences Inc Corporation plc (NASDAQ: PRTA), a late-stage clinical biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of novel therapies for serious diseases caused by protein dysregulation, including neurodegenerative and rare peripheral amyloid diseases. Mr. Johnson currently leads the company's global investor relations and corporate communications functions, serving as the primary strategic advisor on financial communications, corporate messaging, investor engagement, and external communications. He works closely with Prothena's executive leadership team and Board of Directors on corporate strategy, capital markets activities, business development communications, and initiatives that support long-term shareholder value creation.
Mr. Johnson brings more than two decades of leadership experience spanning biotechnology, global technology, finance, and capital markets. Prior to joining Prothena, he served as Vice President of Investor Relations at Acadia Pharmaceuticals and various director-level roles at aTyr Pharma, SoftBank Group, DeNA Co. and MediciNova. Across these organizations, Mr. Johnson has built deep expertise in investor relations, corporate communications, capital markets, corporate strategy, and translating complex science and business strategy into compelling narratives for investors, analysts, partners, employees, and other stakeholders.
Mr. Johnson earned an M.B.A. from the Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego, and a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University. He is also a CFA® charterholder and serves on the Board of Directors of the American Lung Association.
