Linda T., OH

My name is Linda and I am a 60-year-old wife, mother and grandmother. I want to shout from the rooftops how low-dose lung screening saved my life.

I was a former smoker and my doctor and I discussed low-dose Lung screening, I am a firm believer in preventative maintenance. I did my test and sure enough I had a suspicious nodule that we watched. It did grow and was time to take action. I had the upper portion of my lung removed due to lung cancer. We caught it in time before it spread and was confined to one area, no chemo or radiation was needed. Low-dose lung screening saved my life, and I am the perfect example of why people should get screened. I had no symptoms at all, but it would have spread over the years.

I am spreading the word and people have the mindset if it isn't broke why fix it,

People seem scared to do screening as they fear the results. I would love to tell my story and be an advocate for this test. People need to hear my story and how it saved my life. No, I didn't like the results, but it saved me by catching it so early. Thank you for low-dose lung screening. People need to hear my story and see how great I'm doing, people need to realize it's not a death sentence if caught early.
