Indoor Air Quality, Asthma, and Schools
Poor indoor air quality (IAQ) can have a negative impact on health, especially for children and those living with asthma. School-aged children spend about half their waking hours in schools, so it is important that schools have plans in place to ensure good IAQ and a healthy learning environment. Starting July 1, schools can enroll in the NEW Clean Air School Challenge, an engagement, recognition and technical assistance program aimed at empowering K-12 schools across the country to address IAQ. Participating schools will have access to resources, peer mentorship, and can apply for mini grants.
Learn more and find downloadable materials, including a new case study about one small district’s experience assessing IAQ, by visiting Lung.org/CASC
