House-Passed Budget Bill Threatens the Health of Millions of Americans

In response to the House passage of H.R. 2811, American Lung Association President and CEO Harold Wimmer issued the following statement:

“The House passage of the budget bill yesterday is disappointing. If passed into law, this bill would set the country on a path toward a future where fewer Americans are able to access lifesaving medical care, clean air for all becomes harder to achieve and public health agencies are left under-resourced and unprepared for emerging threats. The American Lung Association is deeply disappointed in this bill’s passage.

“We urge the Senate to reject this bill in its entirety.”
