American Lung Association Announces New Members and Leadership for 2023-24 National Board of Directors

Today, the American Lung Association announced its 2023-2024 national board of directors and officers. The volunteer board, which was elected on June 24 at the national board meeting in Chicago, provides strategic and governance oversight for the Lung Association’s mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. 

“Our directors have extensive experience in many areas, including medical, legal, financial and philanthropic sectors, and we are proud to have these individuals help lead our organization’s critical work to end the burden of lung disease in the U.S.,” said Harold Wimmer, national president and CEO of the Lung Association. “We are living in a critical time for lung health. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, more people are focusing on their lung health, so this is an incredible opportunity to help everyone breathe easier.”

Cheryl Calhoun, CPA, Managing Director, CBIZ MHM, LLC, will serve her second year as the chair of the organization’s national board of directors beginning July 1, 2023. Additionally, the Lung Association has appointed David G. Hill, MD, as chair-elect and welcomes new board members, Juanita Mora, MD, Susan B. Padernacht, EdD, and Michelle Silvia Spriggs, CPA.
