American Lung Association Welcomes Chicago Business Leader Claude Robinson to National Board of Directors

Today, the American Lung Association announced that Claude A. Robinson, Jr. joined its national board of directors. The volunteer board provides strategic and governance oversight for the Lung Association’s mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. 

Robinson is the Founder & President of Onyx Strategic Partners, LLC, a strategic business consulting firm specializing in government and community affairs, diversity, equity and Inclusion, project management and organizational program design. His work has yielded numerous accolades, including awards from former city of Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, Miss Illinois Leadership Award 2001, Crain’s Chicago Business “Notable DEI Executive” and Chicago Cubs Nike City Connect Campion.

“We are at a critical time for lung health. We are emerging from a pandemic with a new respiratory illness, face future lung health threats like climate change and youth vaping and are still working to address persistent health disparities. Claude’s impressive background and commitment will undoubtedly elevate our mission,” said Harold Wimmer, President and CEO of the American Lung Association. “We are proud to have Claude on board to help lead our organization’s critical work to end the burden of lung disease in the U.S.”

In addition to his business endeavors, Robinson also sits on the Board of Directors for the Rush BMO Institute for Health Equity, as well as the Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission. He has affiliations with the Chicago Community Development Advisory Council, Business Leadership Council, United Church of Christ Council for Health and Human Service Ministries, Chicago Committee on Urban Opportunity, Latino Policy Forum, Advocate Bethany Fund, Trinity United Church of Christ and Leadership Greater Chicago.
