Columbus Woman Climbs Rhodes Tower for Uncle with Lung Cancer

Also a lung disease survivor, she raises funds, awareness in Lung Association event, Feb. 25

COLUMBUS, OH | February 7, 2023

For four consecutive years, Lauren Kraft has taken to the stairs in honor all of those in her life who have struggled with lung disease as part of the American Lung Association in Ohio’s Fight For Air Climb.

This year is no different as she plans to climb 40 flights, 880 steps in the event taking place on February 25 at 8am at Rhodes Tower.

“This particular climb is a tribute to my sweet and wonderful Uncle Buck, who is fighting lung cancer bravely,” said Kraft. Her uncle was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2021. Since then, Kraft has directed her fundraising efforts to support him and his struggle with the disease.

She has also struggled with a rare lung disease, which she was diagnosed with in February of 2020. 
“I love the American Lung Association,” she said. “They supported me through a really tough time with lung disease and I will support them so long as I am able!”

Her fundraising goal is $1,000 and she’s almost reached it. She will join hundreds of other climbers with similar stories to create a special bond as they take their steps up at Rhodes Tower on Saturday, February 25. The first wave of stair climbers begins at 8 a.m.
