Cancer Treatment Centers of America Physician to Speak at National American Lung Association Lung Cancer Event

On Wednesday, November 9, the American Lung Association will host a virtual program titled, “The Pros and Cons of Minimally Invasive Lung Cancer Surgery & Who is Eligible” featuring Dr. Peter Baik, Thoracic Surgeon at Cancer Treatment Centers of America. This is part of the Lung Association’s Lung Cancer Patient Meetup program, which features both live and recorded events to educate patients during Lung Cancer Awareness Month in November.

During the event, Dr. Baik will discuss lung cancer surgery. He will review the risks and potential side effects of lung cancer surgery and educate attendees on what to expect with minimally invasive surgery. He will also help attendees determine potential questions about surgery to ask their doctor.

“Lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer deaths in the U.S. Fortunately, we are seeing improved survival rates thanks to advancements in early detection and better treatment options,” said Deb Brown, Chief Mission Officer for the American Lung Association. “We are honored to have Dr. Baik featured at this national event to help people living with lung cancer navigate their treatment journey.”

The Lung Association’s Lung Cancer Patient Meetup program is designed to be flexible to meet the needs of lung cancer patients nationwide. The sessions are held live, then recorded and distributed for people to watch on their own time. Sessions are available to view here.

The Lung Cancer Patient Virtual Meetup event with Dr. Baik is on Wednesday, November 9 at 1 p.m. ET. It will be recorded and distributed afterwards as well. Registration is free, and all are welcome. To get more information and register, click here.
