A number of exciting changes to Medicare coverage and costs took effect in 2025. These changes, like the cap on out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs in Medicare Part D ($2,100 for 2026), were implemented to protect patients. It is even more important to shop around during the Medicare Open Enrollment Period to find a drug plan that best fits your needs. Even if you are happy with your current Medicare coverage, keep in mind that Medicare Advantage and Medicare supplemental health and drug plans can make changes each year (things like cost, coverage, and what providers and pharmacies are in their networks) so it’s always best to check each year which plan is best for you.
