Research Project:
What is the Impact of Reducing Household Air Pollution on Birth and Child Health Outcomes?

Grant Awarded:

  • Indoor Air Award

Research Topic:

  • air pollution

Previous randomized controlled trials on ways to reduce household air pollution have shown mixed results when it comes to improving health, especially for birth and child health outcomes. These mixed findings may be due to a variety of factors, including differences in how well people follow the interventions, whether the interventions reduce pollution enough to improve health, and how well the results apply to other settings. This study will use epidemiological and statistical methods to better understand how compliance and factors like location and population characteristics affect how well these interventions work. The goal is to clarify their impact on birth and pediatric health in different contexts.
